Hello everyone,
I am happy to announce that our fifth marker of the 20.04 LTS series, Ubuntu Cinnamon 20.04.5 has been released!
This is a point release, meaning if you are keeping your system up-to-date, there is nothing you need to do. However, if you are installing Ubuntu Cinnamon 20.04, you should use this download instead as it contains the latest updates and fixes.
To my knowledge, I believe this is the last point release for the 20.04 series. Ubuntu Cinnamon 20.04.5 is being supported like all the other flavors – for three years, ending in April 2023. Unless a two-month-long supported release is added to the release schedule, this is the last point release. Users should consider upgrading to Ubuntu Cinnamon 22.04.1 LTS.
Speaking of flavors, please give congratulations to the Ubuntu Unity team for becoming recognized by the Technical Board as an official flavor!
There are no new notable bug fixes and patches in Cinnamon, but all the regular Ubuntu patches are still here! For a list of all the fixes, take a look at the change summary.
Thank you to everyone for supporting the project!
Enjoy!
