Community Development Testing

Kickoff of the First Ubuntu 20.10 Testing Week

Hello everyone,

You heard right-tis the season again for the Ubuntu Testing Week!

The Ubuntu Testing Week, or in some cases in the past, Alpha 1, are for all Ubuntu Products and Flavours to gather their community to help test out Ubuntu. The Ubuntu Testing Week is a substitution for Alpha’s 1/2. Ubuntu Testing Weeks occur twice during a release development cycle. The final Ubuntu 20.10 “Groovy Gorilla” Testing Week will begin September 3rd through September 10th.

Remixes such as Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix, UbuntuDDE (Remix?), Ubuntu Unity/UbuntuEd Remix aren’t required to participate, but regardless we will be participating in the Ubuntu Testing Week.

We would love if you could join us in downloading an ISO, reporting bugs and giving feedback to our developers. All official Ubuntu Products will be built at the Quality Assurance Testing Tracker and our ISO will be mirrored from our Sourceforge page (links below).

So, grab your resources. If you can pull out some extra hardware, we suggest installing it to your hard disk. If you can’t, then spin up a Virtual Machine and run some installs.

Report your results by reaching out to us on Twitter, Reddit, Telegram, or our Discord server.

Remember to always file bugs using reportbug (package), and for our personal repository packages, open it on our GitHub organization page.

And that’s all! Don’t forget to test out Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix, but also all other Ubuntu flavors and remixes, file some bugs, and meet the developers while you’re at it.
